Welcome to Grade 3B!

Wow! We can't believe how fast the summer has come and gone!  But we are all buckled in and set for a brand new 2011-2012 school year!

We would like to introduce ourselves and let you know the roles we will be playing in the grade 3B classroom at Athena Consolidated School this year!

Mrs. Pomeroy will be with the class every morning teaching Language Arts and Science. Mrs. Pomeroy will be working with the Literacy Place program, a Buddy Study program, as well as a Daily 5 system. Mrs. Pomeroy can be contacted by email at lapomeroy@edu.pe.ca 

Ms. Sherry will be working with the class every afternoon teaching Math, Social Studies, and Health.  Students will be building on their prior knowledge in math and extending their skills to include multiplication and division this year.  There is also a new Social Studies curriculum that we look forward to working with. We will be using this blog to keep you updated weekly on things that are taking place in our classroom, as well as posting important dates and events relating to the school and school board.  On an everyday basis we will be using class Agendas and homework bags to keep in close contact with home.  Students will copy homework into their agendas each morning, and we  ask that you sign the agenda upon completion of your child's homework.  We will be checking each morning to ensure that our students are completing their homework. Any notes, worksheets, books, and information sheets will be sent home in each student's black homework bag.

We are both very excited to be working with a great bunch of 19 students this year! We look forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you!
