Week 10: November 7-8
Just a reminder that this is a short week for students of 3B! Parent teacher interviews are scheduled for Tuesday evening and Wednesday day. We look forward to meeting with each and every one of you! If your scheduled time does not suit, please let us know so we can make a different arrangement to meet and discuss your child's learning progress.
In Math this week we will continue our data collection and look closely at line plots and bar graphs. Students are really enjoying this unit so far, as it has given them a chance to express their own likes and opinions while realizing those of others!
In Science we will continue to explore magnets this week. We will look at where the force comes from, and begin to examine different objects that may or may not be attracted to magnets.
In Literacy students will continue to review the reading strategies taught thus far: Check for Understanding (Comprehension), Back Up and Reread (Comprehension), Good Fit Books (Accuracy) and Cross Checking (Accuracy). We encourage that they "use" and discuss these strategies with you as they read at home.
A final reminder that the Scholastic Book Fair is being held in our library until Wednesday November 9th! Our students have had a chance to preview the books, so please make a pit stop at the library to browse around yourself!
We held our Remembrance Day service last Thursday at Athena, but we hope you all take the time to remember and appreciate those who served our country this Friday November 11.
We look forward to seeing you all soon! Enjoy your week!
