Week 32: April 23-27
We hope you all took a few minutes to recognize Earth Day on Sunday (April 22). It is important to talk to your children and discuss ways (recycling, planting trees, reducing pollution, conservation, etc.) they can reduce their carbon footprint on the world!
This week in Math, students will continue their work on division as grouping equal amounts, and as sharing between equal groups. We will be taking a closer look at division as Repeated Subtraction, where 15 divided by 3 can be look at as 15- 3 -3 -3 -3 -3 = 0, which means we took 5 groups of 3 away each time to divide the total equally. By the end of the week we will be looking at using arrays to help us divide large groups into smaller equal groups! Don't forget to keep practicing your child's flashcards with them each night!
In Social Studies, students will be looking at the factors of why people live in the communities they do, by exploring employment and natural resources. Everyone did a fantastic job of their Fantasy Island posters and they will be on display by the end of the week!!
Dates to Remember:
Friday, April 27 = Professional Development Day (No School)
Friday, May 4 = Area Association Day (No School)
