Only 13 days left until Christmas!!
Due to the closure of school on Thursday and Friday of last week, the Christmas turkey dinner that was to be put on by the cafeteria has been cancelled. Further info regarding reimbursements will follow.
Our Christmas concert performances went exceptionally well! We are very proud of our students as they all did a great job on Wednesday!
To start the week off, 3B will be going on their field trip to the Wyatt Heritage Properties on Monday afternoon. A reminder to all students to have in their permission forms and money ($2.75) first thing in the morning. Students will be eating lunch at school and we will depart at 12:30 and return at 2:30. Students will be exploring the theme and traditions surrounding "Ringing in the New Year" which coincides with our new Social Studies program. Students will discover why and how time was developed and marked, how the start of the new year was determined, the customs that grew around the holiday, and the superstitions and celebrations that have been observed around the world.
This week in Math we will continue our exploration of estimation and look into the addition of two digit numbers with AND without regrouping. Remember to keep practicing those math facts at home! Every little bit of practice counts!
In Science we will move onto looking closely at static electricity and charged materials. Students will get to enjoy a bit of fun with these guided experiments in class!
In Literacy this week, students will continue to look at procedural writing through art activities, popcorn stringing, and recipes! We are VERY excited to have some moms, dads, and grandparents join us this week to share some of their favorite Christmas stories!
It is hard to believe we only have 7 days of school left before the holidays! Let's make every one count!
