Week 16: December 19-20

Only one more day left until Christmas break!

In Math students have been hard at work with 2 digit numbers.  They have worked on estimation (rounding and front end estimation) as well as finding sums to problems with and without regrouping their parts.  Students will complete a quiz on Monday as a means to track their progress before the holiday break.

In Science we have wrapped up our unit on Magnetism, and it was a fun one!  Students will be quizzed on Tuesday to show what they know about the unit!

In Literacy we have been very fortunate to have Mrs. McAulay (a literacy coach with the Western School Board) work with us all last week as we explored procedural writing.  We would like to thank her as well as all of the parents and grandparents that joined us throughout the last week to share their favorite Christmas stories with our class.

A final reminder that the cafeteria will be CLOSED Monday and Tuesday this week, so bring your own lunches!

We hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe holiday! We know that all of you have been great students this year, so there is no doubt in our minds that Santa will find you all on Christmas Eve!

Please remember to squeeze in some reading and review your basic math facts over your break!

See you all in 2012 when school commences on Tuesday January 3rd!
