This week in Math we will continue our work on measurement. We spent a lot of time last week looking at non standard and standard units of time. We will continue to work with standard time as we take a closer look at the calendar this week, and move into using rulers to measure length, width, height, and perimeter of objects. Please remember to quiz your students on their mental math facts! We practice these daily in class, but not every student is always getting the answer within 3 seconds. This is more prominent with the subtraction facts than the addition facts.
In Social Studies this week we will wrap up our stations from Chapter 1 and move onto Chapter 2, which focuses on the landforms and vegetation found on Prince Edward Island.
We will be exchanging Valentine's Day cards next Tuesday afternoon, and we will be sending home a list of students first names for your child to prepare. We also invite anyone and everyone to bring in treats or healthy snacks if they wish to!
